This one is especially important because brake lights are so vital in alerting other drivers of your speed. Instead of sticking your arm up in an ‘L’ shape, bend your arm down so that your fingers are directed towards the ground. It is the opposite of the right turn signal, so try not to mix them up. In the event that your brake lights are out and you are on your way to get them fixed, you will have to use this signal.
